Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 May 2026 · Effective: 24 May 2026
1. Who we are
iLovu ("iLovu", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile application operated by MB Kunis (company code 305038004), Vilnius, Lithuania. Contact: contact@ilovu.io.
MB Kunis is the data controller responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Lithuanian data protection law.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the iLovu app, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. By using iLovu, you agree to the practices described here.
iLovu is intended for users aged 18 and over.
3. The data we collect
We aim to collect only what we need to make iLovu work. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- Account information — your name or chosen display name and the authentication identifier from your sign-in method (e.g. Sign in with Apple).
- Relationship and profile data — information you choose to provide such as relationship status, and optionally dates you ask us to remember (anniversary, birthdays). These are optional and removable.
- Partner connection data — the link between paired accounts and the shared content you create together (matches, planned dates, memories).
- Content you create — date ideas you swipe on, matches, planned dates, and photos you add to your Memory Vault, stored so they can be shared with your connected partner.
- Location data — with your permission, your device location to show date ideas and events near you, used only while you use the app. You can disable it anytime in device settings.
- Subscription and payment data — payments are processed by Apple via the App Store; we do not receive or store your card details. We receive subscription status (via RevenueCat) to unlock premium features.
- Usage and technical data — basic usage and device information to keep the app working and improve it. We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, processed by Google as our service provider.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data beyond what you voluntarily provide about your relationship, and we do not sell your personal data.
4. Why we use your data (legal bases under GDPR)
- To provide the service (contract) — creating your account, connecting you with your partner, delivering date ideas and events, saving matches and memories, managing your subscription.
- With your consent — accessing your device location; analytics and crash reporting. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the app secure, preventing abuse, and improving the product.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.
5. Who we share data with
- Your connected partner — content you create together (matches, planned dates, shared memories) is visible to the partner you connect with. This is the core function of the app.
- Service providers (processors) — Google Firebase (database, authentication, hosting, analytics, crash reporting); RevenueCat (subscription management); Apple (distribution and payments). They process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, where we rely on appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations. Because memories are created jointly with a partner, each partner retains their own copy of shared memories.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete ("right to be forgotten"), restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app. You may also lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, vdai.lrv.lt) or your local EU authority. To exercise any right, contact contact@ilovu.io.
8. How we protect your data
We use technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
9. Children
iLovu is not directed at children or minors. It is intended for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact contact@ilovu.io and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as iLovu evolves. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where changes are significant, notify you in the app.
